Over the past six months, there has been a 1,400% rise in searches for artificial intelligence-related services on the freelancing marketplace Fiverr, indicating a growing interest in this subject.
Generative AI skills for picture and text production are in high demand as they may improve marketing, sales, and operational efficiency. Thus, businesses are looking for people who can assist them in implementing these tools. Fiverr’s growth history coincides with the pandemic’s increased need for freelance, distant capabilities and the company’s history of helping businesses meet their talent demands.
Focusing on artificial intelligence (AI), Fiverr introduced several new segments to its freelancing marketplace to assist businesses in finding the expertise they need to take advantage of AI’s potential.
Fiverr’s head of verticals and innovation, Yoav Hornung, told VentureBeat that the company had noticed a rise in interest in AI-related services. “We have also noticed an increase in independent developers offering services associated with generative AI, particularly for cutting-edge applications like ChatGPT, GPT-3, Midjourney, Dall-E, and Stable Diffusion.”
Businesses hire AI specialists from Fiverr, but why?
Hornung stated that Fiverr develops new categories so businesses and independent contractors can find one other. This method goes beyond just listing a set of options in a given category; instead, it provides the framework necessary for an organization to submit a request for the inclusion of external expertise to accomplish a particular goal.
With the rise of dynamic AI, there has been a corresponding increase in the need for AI artists proficient in using the different available tools.
“We’ve seen wonderful things occurring when there’s someone who truly knows how to leverage such services,” he remarked, expressing the enthusiasm with which the team views services aimed toward AI artists.

According to Hornung, Fiverr has also observed an uptick in businesses looking to implement or develop generative AI engines into their products. He added that companies have been looking for freelancers with the expertise to create apps that utilize artificial intelligence.
